The September Soundcheck!

Interesting as it may sound, based on some comments from the players of The Urban Music Scene, when the weather & seasons change into Fall & Winter, many of you get DEEPER into your collections. Reminiscing over the good ol' days, playing back some of your favorites by the fireplace or under a warm blanket, sippin on some hot chocolate &/or reading a book while the background music flows...

Well the crew FLOWS on with ya'! Stick around because more reviews of some great jams from the day is coming up soon & keep checking with us weekly for that explosive new video of the week to drift your way!

Another Supreme Shout goes to Jamaica, South Africa, Japan, Australia, & Mexico for keeping the Old School Party Moving!!!

It goes a little something like this...

Uploaded by capitainfunkk

The Reviews for September!

Before The "Rapture" album & her short stint with legendary R&B group Chapter 8, Charles was adamant about "The Songstress" as being Anita Baker's finest album! His thoughts about the album is ready for your viewing pleasure!

The 'Sounds Of Success' Band has been on Charles' mind lately! He questioned that
"Just The Way You Like It" may be the band's best album to date. He may draw a slightly different opinion folks! We'll see!

Take a good look at this face & you KNOW its none other than classic contemporary R&B crooner O'Bryan! And Brotha Charles F. Sherard went back into his days on the base, the moment he picked this up at the retail! The album?
"Surrender"!

'T' takes it back to 1988 with the arrival of a group that 'JAMMED' the New Jack Swing - all courtesy of the godfather to that sound, Teddy Riley!! We take you there, down memory lane with a review of the self titled release from
Guy!!

A particular movie soundtrack grabbed the interest of our guest reviewer,
Charles F. Sherard, as he reflects on the songs from the Motion Picture -
"New Jack City"!

The heavy vocal tonality of 80's crooner Bert Robinson floated back into the mindset of Terrill's memory as he prepares to re-introduce you to a stellar singer of his time. The album?
"Heart Of Gold"!

The illustrious & vibrant R&B vocalist Vesta Williams is remembered for her hot album
"4 U". Terrill took a step back into 1988 & shares his thoughts about it!!

Man Oh Man! Brotha Charles F. Sherard had us pull this classic from right out of our collections! From "Freakazoid" (see video above), to "Operator" & favorite cut "Curious", the grooveline flows on & on with Charles's review of Midnight Stars'
"Headlines"!!!

With J. 'Jazzy' Desmond still putting the weight of classic jazz albums on his back & carrying it like a passionate delegate for Jazz comes a reflection of one of the finest sax players from yesterday! "Jazzy" brings you Nelson Rangell's "Turning Night Into Day"!

J. Desmond brings the "Jazzy" out of his street handle to pay homage to a significant saxophone player of the Contemporary Jazz era - The late George Howard's "Reflections" is revisited!

Then, the combination of Rene' Moore & Angela Winbush unleashed some classic fast & slow jams for the R&B crowd of the 80's! And Terrill shares his thoughts about driving down the blvd, playing the tunes, head bobbin' & turning right on to a
"Street Called Desire"!!
